Khumbu or Everest region, a popular trekking region in the world is a home to the world’s highest mountain Everest. If it is easier to get to Solukhumbu like Annapurna, then Everest region probably would be more visited than the most visited Annapurna region. The main attraction of this region is undoubtedly world’s famous Mt. Everest which is more a pilgrimage than trek. Reaching to the base camp of Everest is still a dream for many. It is a euphoric moment for anyone to have the world’s highest peak standing toe to toe with him/her. Trekking in Everest region is a lifetime journey than just reaching to the base camp. Everest region includes Everest National Park which is listed in the list of world heritage site by UNESCO. The region is a home to some endangered and rare animals including red panda, snow leopard, musk deer and many others.

Everest Base Camp Trekking, Gokyo-Chola Pass Trekking, Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trek, Everest Highlight Trek, and Everest Standard Trek are the popular trekking routes in Everest region. The most popular one is Everest Base Camp trek which begins by flying into Lukla and leads trekkers to the base camp of Everest which is at an altitude of 5360 meters.
